Members
of our association meet at least three times a year. At Easter we get
together for a weeklong flying expedition, which allows us the chance to
begin preparations for the inter-service competitions. In the summer months
we meet up again for the all-crucial Inter-Service Hang Gliding and
Paragliding Competitions. Then before winter we go away with the other two
services on a flying expedition to Continental Europe, where pilots get the
chance to fly their pants off in conditions that push them to the limit. It
has not been unknown for new pilots to fly at altitudes above 10,000ft and
for the more experienced to fly distances greater than 50km. There are also
other times when we gather, for example to represent the Joint Services in
the British Club Challenge. This competition gives pilots the chance to test
their skills against other Pilots from British Clubs in a relaxed and
friendly atmosphere.

Want
to find out more about the club? Why don't you have a look at the Club Constitution and the minutes from the
latest AGM
(2007). While you're at it, why not have a look at the equipment that is available for hire
to our members. If you would like to hire some equipment then first read
the rental-notes notes then our hire-agreement and finally get in
touch with one of the committee members listed on the contacts page.
Are
you in the Royal Navy? If so then you have probably benefited from
the RN and RM Sports Lottery. The system is simple, you subscribe to the
lottery and the money raised goes towards grants that help individuals and
clubs achieve their sporting ambitions. In addition you as a voluntary
subscriber could win up to £5000 cash! Need we say more? To find out more
have a look at poster1 and poster2
and then submit this form to your UPO.
